Taxidermy in the UK

We are always very interested in Purchasing Victorian Taxidermy, please respond via this on-line form of what you have for sale. HERE

Taxidermy by Mr Lee Yafano.

Lee has undertaken a interest in natural history since childhood and has been a practicing taxidermist for over 10 years. He has begun to specialise in small bird taxidermy. Whilst his mounts are uncased and have limited groundwork he will undertake cased specimens but this is by specific request. All specimens obtained are done in accordance with current EU Legislation pertinent to the sale of taxidermy and come with documentation demonstrating date / place of acquistion and reason for death.

Melanistic Black Barn Owl

Most likely the only good quality bird taxidermied in the UK for some time. Perhaps this is also a global first for this abberation of the species "Tyto Alba". We have access to a few more carcasses and if you are interested then drop us a line and we will see if we can help you obtaining one. It has been suggested that this particular variant orginated in central Europe and this strain is now being bred in the UK to increase the numbers of this rare and enchanting bird.

For all you rare bird admirers out there. Black Barn in the stages of being mounted. We have been informed that poorer quality birds have been mounted. Perhaps this is a first for UK taxidermy.

For all you rare bird admirers out there. Black Barn in the stages of being mounted. Must admit it does look strange, when compared to the more conventional Barn Owl as indicated below.

yafanodotterel.jpg
Dotterel (Charadrius morinellus) by Yafano. Up and coming English Taxidermist. Who when he can be bothered can produce work of very good quality (when he can be bothered that is??.). This bird was found on the Yorkshire moors, near Whitby in June 2009, mounted and offered for sale in the UK. Alas it went to Greece, perhaps not its native home but Greece nevertheless. Shame but there you go. Perhaps one of the rarest wild birds to be mounted in the UK for a long time.
